Did you catch it? The best part was not when Huckabee admitted
how strong Obama was, but when he admitted that race was not the
ultimate issue. Oh, and also, the tribute to Tubbs was pretty rad.
Sorry to put it this way, but KO can't seem to find the words, so...
we are letting Michael K from DListed do the dirty work for us regarding
Drew's breakup from CT native Justin Long. We thought this one would stick,
as they say, and we aren't capable (in this capacity) of the kind of profanity that
so appropriately adds comedic relief to such a significant (to KO...yes, I know..)
celeb-relationship-conclusion as, er, important (oh we mentioned it mattered?
and yes it does to KO, somehow, for epic reasons) as this...Prepare for profanity:![]()

Did you catch AFI's tribute to Warren Beatty Tuesday night?
Beatty got a Lifetime Achievement Award from AFI, and the show
(on USA) was absolutely awesome! KO is gonna try and dig up some clips...
Yesterday was his holy hotness Vincent D'Onofrio's birthday. Swoon.![]()

Happy Birthday Vincent! Love to you!
While dining at Pastis yesterday with India and Damon, KO spotted
prodigious and prolific funny man Jason Bateman. Yay! He's yummy!
He looked really good. Very clean shaven and lean,
dressed in a black t-shirt and dark blue jeans, sans shades...
Tim Russert, host of Meet The Press suffered a fatal heart attack Friday.
He was just 58. Russert was at work at the NBC Studios in Washington, D.C., when
he went into cardiac arrest. "He was an institution in both news and politics for more
than two decades. Tim was a tough and hardworking newsman. He was always well-
informed and thorough in his interviews. And he was as gregarious off the set as he
was prepared on it," President Bush said Friday. In 2008, TIME magazine named him
one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Russert was a father, too. Very sad.![]()
KO loved the Sex & The City movie!!! Alot!
And we loved Samantha's true-to-character story arc...as well as her wardrobe!
Especially this hat!!! LOVES IT!!!
Sadness for few? Apparently! Well, whether you tuned in or were totally turned
off...our friend Derek's show Men in Trees is officially canceled!
We still love you Sketch!

Shia is hosting SNL this Saturday night. Check out these promos
he did with sometimes-funny Andy Samberg. We smiled. We like Shia!
We're sad the Rangers were eliminated, our love was not enough
to save them in OT last night...but we have faith in our favorite player,
Chris Drury's career, and believe next year will be the Rangers year! OoRah!
As you know, KO love love loves hockey!
You absolutely must watch this clip from Keith Olberman's March 27th
Countdown of Worst Persons! It's completely mind-blowing and tragic. !!!
Thanks to Peter at SMT for pointing this out to me!
Funny guy Jonah Hill hosted SNL tonight and for the most part
it was hilarious! The first hour was better than most SNL's in recent
history, for sure. And Jonah's material definitely started strong. He quite
successfully referenced past comedic greats (influences?) as he showcased
his own unique comedic strength. His opening monologue quickly became a
musical number~ a memorable, witty one to be sure! We felt like a proud mama!
You may recall (what is now officially back in the day...before he was "huge") when
KO first met Jonah (with Val) at the Accepted premiere. He was a stand out then, too.
We knew it was a special experience to sing karaoke with him.
And, no doubt, we were quite smitten. He's so accessible and lovable!
Initially Jonah kept in touch, even asking KO to watch and support his
appearance on Conan. He was hilarious and Conan was totally thrilled.
With time, of course, his career escalated and while KO still has the digits,
we aren't in contact so much these days. Alas, such is life. Especially among
artists! Jonah's a guy to cheer for. He's young, sincere, funny & talented.
Congrats Jonah!
Saturday was our friend Jules' wedding day. It was also Micky Dolenz' 63rd!
Happy belated birthday Micky! And many more! Much love, as ever, Katy O!

Project Oh My God Why Have I Not Been Watching This All Along?! Runway
How have I never watched with wonder and awe the genius that is
Heidi Klum's Project Runway???!!!! It's a travesty I've only now discovered
the genuine masterpiece that is the fashion-plate-reality-show-competition!
It's fashion, gay men, style divas, designers and design! Together! Under pressure!
So genius! Love love love it!!! Wow, yes, I'm waaaay late, but better laaate than...

KO's friend from LA/director Zal must be so proud. His brother Rostam's band
(yes the same Rostam , above, who gave katyoliver.com the best review ever)
Vampire Weekend is playing Saturday Night Live next Saturday! Congrats guys!
Miss you Zal! Kick some serious ass on SNL Rostam!

This Sarah Silverman tribute to her boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel
(he celebrated his 5 year-on-air mark last night) is by far one
of the best (if inappropriate) comedy sketches ever. And I know
what kind of competition we're dealing with. Trust me, Sarah takes
on Matt Damon, and your world will be supremely (and admittedly a
bit obscenely) more lovely after watching her genius love tribute to JK.!!!
Prodigious and prolific funny man Jason Bateman is 39 today. Happy Birthday!

Quoting PH:
"David Letterman is returning to TV!
Why? How?
The chat show host not only stars in his CBS talker but he also owns and produces it. Therefore, Letterman has just been able to negotiate an independent contract with the Writers Guild.
Dave himself is a WGA member.
His should could be back on the air in a matter of days.
Also, NBC is expected to announce today that both Leno and O'Brien will be back on the air by January 2nd, although they'll be coming back without writers.
Jay and Conan are merely "hired help" and can't negotiate their own deal with the writers guild. Their shows are owned by NBC, who are being dicks to the writers.
Big coup for Dave.
Bravo!"
So excited to see this! Yeah, I said it. May 2008!
This parody of MTV's hit show The Hills with James Franco as Justin Bobby
and Mila Kunis as Audrina is too good! This is the same "dialogue" used
by the "real" characters on the reality show! Shot by shot, Franco and Kunis ape
an unintentionally hilarious scene from the show. It's intentionally f*cking funny!
Heard through the webrynth about Oprah's Favorite Things show,
filmed this year in Macon, Georgia, and felt strangely compelled to
check out the list of gifts she shared with her audience...Here are 4 of the 20:![]()

November 17, 2007 - In its first dramatic move since the beginning of the Writers Guild strike, NBC has fired "nearly the entire production staff" of its struggling, late-night staple, "Saturday Night Live," sources told Page Six.
One tipster told us, " 'SNL' laid off all their staff until further notice. Their production staff, even long-term employees, were let go." Another source confirmed that "90 percent of the 'SNL' staff was fired."
And while The Washington Post reported yesterday that NBC might lay staff off at Jay Leno's "Tonight" show, "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" and "Last Call With Carson Daly" - all of which immediately went into rerun mode on Nov. 5 - those staffers would at least get paid for two more weeks. But an insider confirmed to us that "SNL" staffers got no severance.
Although no official announcement had been made as of last night about firings at any of NBC's late-night shows, multiple sources confirmed to us that "SNL" staffers learned of their axing yesterday morning. Reps for NBC declined comment.
Despite being scrooged out of their Christmas-season paychecks, the "SNL" crew still has a big heart. Playbill reports that the cast plans to perform a non-televised show tonight at the New York Upright Citizens Brigade Theater on West 26th Street. Ticket proceeds from the sold-out performance, which was produced by Lorne Michaels, will benefit the Writers Guild's strike fund.
The strike has drawn such famous-faced picketers as Sarah Silverman and Kathy Griffin in Los Angeles and "SNL" alumna and current "30 Rock" star Tina Fey in New York to the picket lines. The writers have been fighting for a slice of the dough that networks make off of DVD sales and Internet-streamed content.
Meanwhile, one powerful name is playing Santa Claus to his loyal colleagues. CBS "Late Show" host David Letterman has quietly announced to his staff that he would pay them out of his own pocket over the holidays if the strike continues.

Happy Birthday to Mr. Big, Chris Noth, and a special
happy birthday shout out to the first "Mr. Big" we ever

Yes, the Red Sox won the World Series,
and yes, I was super superstitious about posting
anything until they had clinched their sweep of the
Colorado Rockies!!! But! This post is about Alec Baldwin.
He is an acting tour de force, and he was recently deemed
as such by Defamer. Then coincidentally (?!) I caught him on
Inside the Actor's Studio on Bravo tonight. Hot damn! The man
may be controversial as a father ("thoughtless little pig" anyone?!) but
jeez, there's just no denying he is a brilliantly phenomenal actor! Aces!

Anderson Cooper is adorable.
Stephen Colbert's interview with A.C. tonight
was like Ben & Jerry's new "Banana Split" ice cream:
Yummy, yummy, decadent, delicious and yes, yummy!
Yesterday Colbert threw his hat into the Presidential ring.
Is he serious? If he actually plans on following through...well,
umm, he could be a formidable force because he has a following,
and he has no fear! He may be trying to make a point, but really, is
his bid a genuine gesture acknowledging all the additional drama
associated with such a bold and brazen leap? The question we all
need answered honestly and honorably is, For US, for realz, SC?!
