We heard our favorite flower-powered, eternally hot hero, filmster
player Drew Barrymore was seen making out with funny alot CT native,
MAC spokesman, and sweet underdog-type/genuine nice guy Justin Long.
Seriously, she was linked to Spike (I've always loved that name) Jonze in August...
Still, we've thought for quite a while that JLong was a clever catch...We can't help but
wonder: Really? Drew and Justin? He's so "normal" and she's just not! Can it be true?Ramble On, More of my thoughts Regarding Drew...:
Drew is more of a "Roam if you want to" kind of girl than KO! And that's saying
something! She has lived many, many lives...and we relate to her because of it!
We've always felt connected to her, and felt we were living a parallel life to hers.
We saw clearly her path, as we saw our own. But...just as she "divorced" her roots,
we were "married" to ours, looking for support despite our supposed destiny. We
always admired her strength, her shamelessness, her honesty. We struggled always
with prioritizing our own strength, shamelessness and honesty. Drew is truly heroic!
To paraphrase her character from Fever Pitch, she has a "lyrical soul" and can love
under the best and worst of conditions. When we met Drew, she was sweet and kind,
though, obviously, it was weird to meet the first star we've ever "known!" We were truly
fascinated and inspired by Drew as a young girl. It was indeed a surreal experience
and honestly a bit of a buzz-burn. She said "any friend of Ember's is a friend of mine,"
but we felt utterly invisible. Grateful, but invisible. Then again, we were humbled, too,
because what a weird burden for her! She must have so many fans like me! I was not
looking for a picture or anything...I just wanted eye contact and acknowledgment.
And I got that. That's alot! When she left I said, bye Drew, it was nice meeting you.
She looked at me, smiled, and said "it was so nice meeting you too." The rush of
emotions compounded over 20 years was my responsibility, not hers, but it was so
revealing. She's an epic success, a genuine phoenix, and a bizarre biz-kid. She's truly
unique, ambitious, and impressive. A bold and beautiful phenomenon! A star's star!
