photos from Annie & David's wedding, Key West, Nov.8 2008
by wedding photographer Alex Rodriquez (no not that A-Rod)
"The Bush boys have certainly set a standard for the future - lax
regulation, tax breaks for wealthy, an imploding financial sector,
growing disparity of income, loss of jobs, high energy prices,
monumental national debt and growing deficits, a weakened dollar, and
massive government bailouts of private industry with, of course, no
payback to stockholders or to USA of the excessive, obscene payouts
grabbed by former CEOs of the rescued companies and Fannie and Freddie.
What a record for the Harvard B School grad who was going to bring
business principles to government and compassion to conservatism! A
fraud and deception on the country unrivaled since the 19th century. He
even makes Herbert Hoover look like a leader.
What's next?
Wow."

St Louis, August 2008

Last week my Dad (aka RGO) flew out to the West Coast to visit my brother
Patrick (aka Trick and/or "the redhead"). As per usual, they hiked it up. To boot,
they saw the Red Sox win in Oakland. Guy bonding. Good stuff. Handsome fun!!!

We've rediscovered our love of hiking, New Haven and being alone*
(*with a dog!) thanks in large part to our proximity to East Rock Park.
The month-old abode is but only a block to a trail head and the trip up
is different and delovely every time. Last night, for the first time, we hiked
to the top with Rob Z as well. It was the tail end of magic hour, minutes away
from a serene sunset, and we were happily snapping away. The shared experience
was distinctly divine...And we are definitely addicted to the inspired ascent. Enjoy:![]()

The truly wonderful woman and worldly Penguin Lucy has sent along a
great, sweet, and touching email account of her life this January.
We hope she understands why we feel absolutely compelled to share two
excerpts from her email with you all. Thank you Lucy! Miss you alot alot!!!
"for the first three weeks i had a most wonderful, relaxing, rejuvenating solo
vacation to the yucatan in mexico. i went swimming, ate papaya, walked along
the white sandy beach, read lots of books, and otherwise enjoyed every moment." ![]()
"then i found out that my grandfather had died, and so went back to chicago to
see my family and go with them to slovakia for the funeral. it was a rushed trip
but we had a beautiful funeral for my grandfather and my father (we brought both
of them with us to be buried). it was so nice to see my cute slovakian relatives, they
made us drink homemade apple brandy and eat little cakes until we almost vomited
right onto their lace tablecloth. the whole town came to the funeral, everyone dressed
up and brought flowers, it was really amazing."![]()

We just love how Oz wants to play with anyone and any animal!
He even wanted to play with these horses near Marta and JR's place
in Maryland. Three of the horses were into him, but eventually a fourth
appeared and kicked it up mustang-like, so we took off. Good times!![]()

Oh and we should add any thing to the list! He loves leaves and sticks too!

We've been so busy, as certainly you all have been...and we're working
our mega-double (10:30am-12midnight) tomorrow at Modern, so we're
hoping this brief but brilliant (ha! yes! go Bean!) post will satiate those of
you still stopping by KatyOliver.com for a looksy.
First, a list (we love lists!) of the things we need to tell you about~ and will
therefore elaborate on soon alot but not soon enough~ in no particular order
but numbered nonetheless:
1: Maxie's Birthday Post! Our beloved Mama and Daddy deserves a truly great
tribute. Her birthday, the day before the baby Jesus' is a big beautiful deal to us.
We so adore Maxie and are determined to do a righteous post for her. Of course.
2: The full coverage, details and photos from the hardcore Hatebreed show
Sunday night at Toad's must be honored. We rocked solo, and then went back-
stage and got the golden gift of photos with old friend/lead singer Jamey Jasta!
3: Marta and Ava's visit! AliBabba's baby boy Aidan was born! Ace is having a boy!
4: Christmas and all that oh-so-festive-and-familial day included.
5: Spodick's SOW/BOW reunion party last Saturday night! It's always a privilege
to spend time with our oldest of old school friends, including Jon, Jules, Otis & Dan!
6: The Rangers game at MSG Wednesday. My favorite player, Chris Drury scored a
crucial and game-shifting goal. Our seats were absolutely amazing. LiLo was in the
crowd. We got a new (Drury) hat, and the Rangers won 4-2. Then! We met up with
Maxie afterwards for a fleeting few hours of fabulousness. We felt so blessed.
7: We got 2 new pairs of Uggs!
8: Matt Lum, our bf and tech-savvy soulmate celebrated his birthday on the 22nd!
9: The red-headed brother (Trick) came east for the holidays. We met his great-alot
galpal Pepper (who just so happens to share my Scorpio birthday of Nov. 4th)! Yay!
10: Our favorite things and experiences and lessons from 2007.
11: Our choicest highlights from this site and our favorite blogs in 2007.
12: A really ripping compilation of our top ten photos (by KO) of 2007!
Excited yet?!
Thanks for your continued love and support. KO needs and appreciates it!
Always! Alot! We are way excited to elaborate on all these great moments from
the KnockOut Life and we can't wait to share the various and sundry other musings
from the mind of a crafty (if occasionally crazy) artist living life with heart and soul!

Light and Laughter,
As Ever,
